Abstract Aim To identify the proportion of pyelonephritis patients admitted with true urological pathology Method Retrospective audit Results The majority adults diagnosis (80%) remain under urology team from 1st day admission Of 80% only 9% had an underlying confirmed by imaging AND requiring invasive intervention Conclusions High rate inappropriate to surgical / ward subsequent pressure on beds and inevitable cancellations some occasions Acute should not be routinely unless there is clear evidence obstructing or no obvious improvement antibiotics Consider in terms US/CT KUB first instance before making any referral
